Taipei City and New Taipei City Collaboration Circular Line Phase I Smoothly Transferred
New Taipei City entrusted Taipei City with the operation, maintenance and management of Circular line Phase I with the administrative contract set to expire on January 30. Following communication between Taipei City Government and New Taipei City Government, a consensus was reached, and the two cities will work together to carry out the transfer seamlessly. Taipei City DORTS stated that in accordance with a consensus between Taipei City Government and New Taipei City Government, all Circular line Phase I property was to be transferred back to New Taipei City on the date of the expiry date of the operating contract (January 30, 2023). In accordance with the principles of not impacting the rights and interests of passengers, maintaining uninterrupted operations, and refraining from cutting services, New Taipei City and Taipei City will work together and collaborate on operations. The two cities will jointly report to MOTC, and New Taipei City will serve as the local competent authority for Circular line Phase I. As for the Capital Circular Line, which will be formed by the future addition of the north section & south section and the east section to Circular line Phase I, Taipei City and New Taipei City have also reached a consensus that the operation of the line will be carried out by a single operating agency. Furthermore, the coordination of operations will be decided one year before the completion of the north section & south section.
