What’s the planning for a multiple application smart card system for the future Taipei MRT automatic fare collection (AFC) system.
In line with the policy of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, planning is underway for Taipei MRT AFC ticketing system. This must use a multiple application smart card in order to accomplish the goal of seamless interchange between highway public transportation and rail transportation. Taipei MRT's AFC system will be integrated with the electronic ticketing systems used by EasyCard, I cash Card, Happy Cash Card, and I Pass Card.
